Ally (Allison) Kelly is a writer living in eastern Connecticut, USA, in an apartment with her cat, Merlin. Ally has been writing stories since she was young and has grown fond of the fantasy genre over the years. She received an Associates Degree in General Studies from Three Rivers Community College and an Associates Degree in Graphic Design. She currently works part time in retail, loves taking photos in her spare time, and is working on publishing a Rapunzel retelling, currently titled Shadows of the Fae, hopefully releasing in the fall of 2024 or early 2025.
Ally has been writing for as long as she can remember, with influences from some of her favorite movies – Star Wars, The Wizard of Oz, Hocus Pocus, and more. She knew at eleven years old that she wanted to some day be a published author, and wrote her first four-hundred page fan fiction “novel” between the ages of eleven and fourteen years old. When she was a junior in high school, she discovered the book Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier. Although she had read other fantasy books, this was the book that officially pushed her into reading more of the fantasy genre. She started moving away from fan fiction and wrote original fantasy stories instead.
In 2016, Ally started taking her writing more seriously, and created an online writing community called Worldsmyths. Since then, the community has flourished, with over 700 members from all over the world. Worldsmyths Publishing, a non-profit indie publishing company, was established in 2021, and has since published three short story collections, two of which Ally was published in. The fourth collection, Written in the Wind, released on March 1st and is available on Amazon!
